• Newport — roughly a 15-minute drive, with one of the region's best-loved beaches and a lively little town in its own right

• Trefin — around 15 minutes away, a picturesque coastal village with a beautiful stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path

• St Davids — about 20 minutes' drive, Britain's smallest city, with its stunning cathedral and a choice of glorious beaches nearby
